The Key to Proper Strategic Management
Though it may sound easy, strategic management is a tough job. A lot of knowledge, experience, and skill is needed to be effective in this field. Since strategic management is a process, it is important that the developed strategy is sustainable, feasible, and acceptable. Sustainable in the sense that the resources of the organization can support it, feasible that the effort and resources allotted by the organization would give them results that they want whatever form it may be, and acceptable in the sense that the goals and the plan of action is realistic. Being able to implement the strategy and sticking to it is also a key in strategic management. With the proper strategy and implementation, strategic management can be applied effectively and therefore, organizations could achieve their goals and objectives effectively.
Strategic Management and its Processes
There are some stages involved in strategic management. The first stage is the strategy formulation. This is where the objectives of the organizations are defined. Goals may be long term or are short term. After these goals and objectives are well defined, they start to plan the policies, the action needed in implementing them, and the other things needed to be done for them to be able to achieve them. The next stage is the implementation stage. This is where all the planned actions and policies are executed. During the implementation stage, constant evaluation takes place. Since the implementation stage is where they execute their plan of action, it should involve a lot of evaluation of their formulated plan of action to be able to either further develop some of their policies that need improvement or remove the ineffective ones. Upon implementation of their plan, constant decision making is being done putting into perspective their goals and objectives.
Organization and Strategic Management
Every organization has its own goals and objectives. These are the first things defined when starting up an organization. A key for them to be able to achieve their goals and objectives is to be able to apply strategic management. Strategic management is the process of planning, developing policies and plans, implementing them, and evaluating decisions that enables the organization to achieve its goals and objectives. It provides a direction for the organization to follow and a guide in implementing their plans to achieve their long-term objectives. It plays an important role for the organizations to function the way they would want to. With the proper strategic management it can be assured that the organization would be able to do things systematically and be able to come up with the best decision whenever they face a situation where important decision-making is needed.
